About FCB

The Faringdon Community Bus (FCB) is run by volunteers and provides local transport for individuals and groups in and around Faringdon. It was launched in November 2001 with funding from The Countryside Agency, South East England Development Agency, Vale of White Horse District Council, the Rural Transport Partnership, The Oxfordshire County Council and Faringdon Town Council.

The Bus operates a timetabled service in and around Faringdon every weekday morning (except Bank Holidays). On Tuesdays (Market Day) the service within Faringdon is slightly reduced to allow local village destinations to be included.

A programme of trips is run to local towns and places of interest and to events within easy travelling distance of Faringdon. Details are available from the Faringdon Community and Tourist Information Centre, where tickets for trips can be purchased. Click here to view a list of forthcoming trips......

The Faringdon Community Bus is also available for private hire either with an enlisted FCB driver or as Self Drive (conditions apply).

The bus has 16 passenger seats but is not fully accessible to wheelchair users. Folding wheelchairs can be accommodated but all passengers must be able to ascend three steps to enter the bus.

Passenger numbers in all categories of its operations are increasing each year.
